My app is running slowly. What do I do?

It's tough to pinpoint one specific reason the app could be running slowly, so we suggest trying a few different troubleshooting steps!

1. Check to ensure you have a strong internet connection. If your internet connection is having problems, this will affect loading time of lessons, content, and images on the app.

2. Check the memory on your device. If your device doesn’t have enough space, your app will run slowly. To resolve this, you may need to delete other apps on your device to make more space.

3. Try a forced reset of your device. (Quick note: A forced reset is NOT the same thing as turning your iPad off and back on. Apple calls it a ‘reset,’ but don't worry—it won't delete any of your apps, it just refreshes the working memory so that programs will run better.) Here's how:

Simultaneously press and hold the "Home" button on the face of the Apple device and the "Sleep/Wake" button on the top of the device for about 10 seconds—until you see the Apple logo against a black screen (NOTE: it will go to black after about 7 seconds, and then the apple logo will appear after a few more seconds.)Once you see the Apple logo, just give your device some time (it will take up to a couple of minutes) to reset and start up again. Once your device is up and running again, try reopening Homer.
